Had a lovely day today. Was too windy and cold to eat our barbecued hamburgers outside to celebrate Memorial Day - but we enjoyed them just as much inside! Sister Colleen's mom and dad are visiting us for a few days and her mom volunteered to do the barbecue! Simply delicious. She also made potato salad. I totally love potato salad. In my book anyone who makes potato salad gets immediate points for canonization. No questions asked. Some things are just more divine that others.
Today's Mass for memorial day was very beautiful too. Father Alberic (our chaplain) gave a wonderful sermon on the gift and sacrifice of so many men and women that have secured liberty for us. We remember them each and every day at Mass but today was a very special day to remember not only those who gave their lives.. but those who continue to bear the cross through injury of heart, soul and body from their days of duty. Also I think it is important to remember those who grieve over them and continue to suffer with their loved ones sacrifice. Often times it is a lifetime sacrifice - but one, I pray God rewards with great blessings if not now - surely in the life to come.
Today also, Barb and I worked on getting the Author's free books into mailing packages and hopefully, God willing - they will be on their way tomorrow. Bit by bit all the loose ends are being wrapped up. The Publicity Squad free books will be going out very soon as well.. but they are going from the printer. There was a delay because I had something else printed to put in them. Small faith cards - a little bigger than a business card that I hope will be easy to pass out to friends. I think they will be really nice. I will share a picture of them tomorrow, getting late now.
