Prayer for Our Lenten Journey

Merciful Father,
may the penance of our lenten observance
make us your obedient people.

May the love within us
be seen in what we do
and lead us to the joy of Easter.

Grant this through
our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Quote for the Day:
The proof of love is in the works. Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist.
Pope St. Gregory the Great

First of all - I called the caregivers for my mom and they said she had a better night so that is a very good blessing. I am going to keep praying the memorare every day for her.

I am working on the book and really think this is going to be just the best one ever. Maybe that is just because it is the one I am working on at present.. but I love the stories. They are not all big "oh my gosh" stories.. but nice stories that make you feel the world is a better place because prayer is so important in so many people's lives. Somehow it gives me a feeling of being more connected to people than I ever thought. After all, we are all praying to the one God!

Most of the stories are Christian but there will be some from the Judaism faith. I was reading one today that I really love - I am sure you will love it too. It is about a daughter praying for her dad in the hospital by singing psalms to him for three hours in ICU. And as she sang and prayed he got better and better. Just beautiful. I can't wait to share it with you. Can you imagine singing psalms in ICU? I love it!

Well, night prayer is in ten minutes so I better keep moving. We have psalms to pray as well!

Blessings of Peace, Love and God's Goodness,
Sister Patricia
