Saint Mary Katherine Drexel

Ever-loving God
you called Saint Katharine Drexel
to teach the message of the Gospel
and to bring the life of the Eucharist
to the African American
and Native American peoples.
By her prayers and example,
enable us to work for justice
among the poor and the oppressed,
and keep us undivided in love
in the eucharistic community
of your Church.
Grant this through
our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Quote for the Day: If we wish to serve God and love our neighbor well, we must manifest our joy in the service we render to Him and them. --Saint Katherine Drexel

Today (Sunday) has been a very nice quiet and restful day. Thanks be to God, because I think my nerves really needed to mellow out. I warned everyone this morning that my nerves were on a very, very thin thread so be careful. I've found its best when one is close to the edge to let people know ahead of time. It saves a lot of extra time in the confessional later.
Spent a little time this evening trying to put a few more things back together with the card site and related pages. Sigh. Getting there.
I brought my mom over to the monastery on Friday for dinner and a little time out. She enjoyed getting out very much but then when she went back.. she was even more disoriented and upset. So.. I think I had best give her more settling in time before another monastery visit. One good thing, I do think this place is so much better for her, and in time she will be very glad of the move. Not that she will remember it of course. Which is perhaps a good thing.
This morning I was thinking a lot about letting go. Not holding on. The image came to me of how God creates each new day for us to live. If we do not let go of yesterday than we are not open to all the joy and blessings of the new. And it's amazing the things I want to hold on to. Just Amazing. But life just keeps moving on and I have to move with it.
The only thing that stays the same is .... Jesus Christ... Yesterday... Today... and Forever. . . That's the only constancy I need I guess!
Blessings of All Peace and All Good, Sister Patricia
