Prayer for the Day:

O glorious St. Joseph,
spouse of the Immaculate Virgin,
obtain for me a pure,
humble and charitable mind,
and perfect resignation
in the Divine Will.
Be my guide,
father and model through life
that I may merit to die as thou didst,
in the arms of Jesus and Mary. Amen.

The church is not "officially" celebrating Saint Joseph today..because it is Holy Week. AND we did celebrate Saint Joseph on Saturday (the official day the church designated) BUT... still there are those of us.. who feel we ought to give at least some mention to Saint Joseph today. So Happy Feast of Saint Joseph!

The book is going along like crazy. I feel like I have been paddling down the stream for months with this and all of a sudden we have hit white water. (White water is when the water is rough because there are lots of rocks and the water is moving very fast so that the water splashes a lot against the rock and makes lots of "white" water.) At least that is my elementary definition of white water. Anyway suffice it to say.. that things are moving fast and furious.

It seems that no matter how "organized" I try to be with all the stories.. when you are working with over a hundred of them.... it gets very topsy turvy. Not only that I have had four different editors working on the stories, plus the proofer, the layout and the candlestick maker. Its like do I even know what day of the week it is? No... I do not. AND how I am going to continue with this as Holy Week picks up.. I don't know.. but God does.. so on we go.

OH and before I forget to tell you... Next week we will be on Retreat! Yep... life may never get back to normal.

Normal what's normal?

Blessings of Peace,
Sister Patricia and all the Sisters

Everything God Created is Good
Love Creates and Recreates

Throughout Scripture we find the statement "God made the heavens and the earth." This is just another way of saying God's love is creative.

Since heaven and earth is the handiwork of God, we should have great reverence and respect for every phase of his creation Our contemplation of creation will instill in us a greater appreciation of God's creative love as well as awe and reverence for his magnificent works.

Coffee Talk Tuesday

For now, I plan to retire my weekly Your Turn posts. I will still regularly answer reader questions on the blog and I will still regularly invite discussion on topics of interest to Catholic families, but I won’t necessarily do so every Tuesday morning. Instead, as some of you have requested, I am going to try this little experiment:

Every Tuesday, we’ll have an open thread, just like the one we had last week. It’s Coffee Talk — think of it as stepping into a room filled with smart, friendly Catholic moms (and some dads too, but they’re quieter) and

1. make a comment

2. share an idea

3. vent a frustration

4. ask a question

5. respond to someone else’s comment or question

As always, be nice or be deleted. Other than that, there are no rules. Go ahead now. Talk..

On a personal note…

10th Station: Jesus is stripped of his garments

stat10.jpg He stands there, shaking and would fall to the ground were he not supported by two of the guards. If he were to fall, I doubt if he would ever rise again. He is in so much pain that I doubt if he could distinguish one part of his body from another and yet the worst is still to come. How I wish it were all over and done with.

As the centurion of this cohort, it was my task to take charge of the crucifixion. I have performed the same act on many occasions, but this one is different. I did not know Jesus of Nazareth, but I had heard of his name. It would be hard for him to have remained unknown to the garrison because we had to be aware of potential troublemakers. Yet I had only heard of the Nazarene as a possible prophet. No acts of insurrection or violence were associated with him. Of course, the Jewish authorities disliked him, but I don’t think much of them myself. They are a scheming, self-centred, power-hungry bunch of individuals who are unworthy of the positions that they hold. They are not leaders in the true sense of the word.

From today's readings:

The Triumphant Servant of the Lord

From today’s readings: “The Lord GOD is My help, therefore I am not disgraced; I have set My face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame.... For the LORD hears the poor, and His own who are in bonds, He spurns not.... My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with My disciples....”

Christ’s victory over sin and death is the greatest triumph of all time, and yet, He was not at all gloatingly triumphant - rather, He meekly and lovingly endured all the injuries and insults of His Passion and Death for the sake of all who would turn to Him for salvation.

For Christ, remember, never set out to triumph over Caiphas and the Sanhedrin, Pilate and the Romans, for these were merely agents of the real Enemy whom Jesus came to vanquish. All those who definitively align themselves with the Devil will ultimately share his fate of damnation, but among those who once ally themselves with Evil, some are providentially moved to repentance by the example of the Suffering Servant, Who conquered evil by refusing to return it when He said, “I gave My back to those who beat Me, My cheeks to those who plucked My beard; My face I did not shield from buffets and spitting.”
