Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions
St. Charles Lwanga and 21 Ugandan companions were among hundreds of
Catholics and Anglicans killed in Uganda by King Mwangabetween 1885 and 1887. Many of the
people persecuted by the king were relatives and friends. Charles and his 21
companions were put to death by the sword and fire because they would not
violate their faith to follow the king. Before these faithful died they challenged
the king on many of his immoral practices.
Pope Paul VI canonized St. Charles and his companions on October 18, 1964. Charles is
the patron saint of African Catholic Youth Action.

Quote for the Day:
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praise to they name, O Most High, to declare they steadfast love in the morning, and they faithfulness by night.
Psalm 92:1-2

Note: If you have not been getting JoyNotes messages and you are using either AOL or Bellsouth and a few others.... they have updated their Spam Controls and JoyNotes is apparently a victim. I will leave this message up for a while.. because a lot of folks are wondering. Also for many people on these systems.. it doesn't work for me to email you back.. because my emails are blocked. So if you have another email address you might want to subscribe on that one.
Sometimes its the littlest things that hold us up. For instance I have a letter on my desk to send to my brother... and I really should have sent it today.... but I needed a one cent stamp to add to the postage stamp that worked just fine by itself a little while ago. So there it sits.
I tackled more important things all day .. supposedly... though really that letter needed to get in the mail... but I put it off because it needed a one cent stamp and even though there was probably one somewhere in this place that tiny bit of extra effort was just over the top.
I think that happens a lot. I rather expect it even happens in my spiritual life. I think that is rather scary.
Blessings of Peace and All Good, Sister Patricia and all the Sisters
