I will leave this message up for a while.. because a lot of folks are wondering. Also for many people on these systems.. it doesn't work for me to email you back.. because my emails are blocked. It's really a nice site. It has things like setting goals and managing time and managing self. ( I need a lot of that) True stories, ghost stories and miracle stories. Good for a "grumpy, why in the world am I here" sort of day. I feel a bit "Over loaded and not getting anywhere fast!" mood. I'm thinking I'm going to take a good look at that setting goals page and do some of that. Re- align my interior planet because its flinging out of orbit.
Part of this is due to the weather. I know a lot of the states are enjoying the beginning of summer and I do have faith that ours will show up eventually - just not sure if its going to be this year or not.

Bobby's Miracle

Our much-loved eight-year-old golden retriever Bobby was diagnosed with inoperable cancer last February and was given very little hope of survival. Although it was recommended that he be put to sleep immediately, we refused and were referred to a special animal hospital miles from our home.
On the day we arrived, we learned that a cancer research program was beginning that used experimental electro-chemotherapy and the doctors in a large general hospital wanted to take that further step. Our dog was the fifth of twenty needed to conduct the experiment.
The chemotherapy lasted four months. Every night I put holy water on my sick dog and blessed him with a little cross and a relic of St. Pio. After the chemotherapy ended, the doctors gave us the news that it had not been successful and he only had days or maybe weeks left to live. They were so disappointed.

Persecution a Paradox
Psalm 55:17-18
But I will call upon God,
and the Lord will save me.
In the evening and at dawn, and at noon,
I will grieve and moan,
and he will hear my voice.
The joys and the happy moments of life are mingled with difficulities strewn along our path. We meet them morning, noon and evening. We should not be surprised at their occurrence since Jesus already prepared us for them.
Jesus warned us that the road might be steep and rocky, the door narrow, and the cross heavy. He also told us that he would be with us pulling his share of the yoke which would make our yoke easy and our burden light.
St. James encourages us never to lose hope but to trust that every trial contributes to our glory. "Happy the man who holds out to the end through trial! Once he has been proved, he will receive the crown of life the Lord has promised to those who love him." (Jas 1:12)

On a personal note…
At the end of the conference
There were approximately 200 people of every shape and size at the meeting which lasted from Monday morning until midday Wednesday. We’d come from every nook and cranny of England and Wales for the Churches’ Media Conference, held in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, far from the noise and bustle of London .
Not everybody was Catholic and, in fact, we were in a very small minority, mainly because the organisation was started by Evangelical Christians and then spread out to involve the other Churches in a very serious attempt to network with other Christians involved in the media.
Approximately one quarter of those at the conference were religious broadcasters from the BBC, since this is their annual occasion when they themselves can meet each other and also key players in spreading the Word and making effective their own ministry around the UK.
At the end of a couple of extremely valuable, albeit packed and totally exhausting days, all I can say is that it is a wonderful experience to spend time with other faith groups, sharing in their insights and commitment to the one Lord. For everybody present, the priority was to search for ways to make God better known and loved.
What more could one ask?

Inside & Outside
As Jesus explained, He came to fulfill the Old Testament Law and Prophets, not to abolish them. As the first example of His fulfillment, He considers the Fifth Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill,” certainly one of the clearest dictates of the old Law.
Jesus, of course, does not abrogate that cornerstone of civic order - rather, He builds on it, insisting that not only will we be judged on the basis of our actions, but we’re even also answerable for our attitudes and interior dispositions. Thus, since murder is sparked by anger and disdain, those tendencies must be immediately addressed so that they never can develop to the point of even contemplating murder.
In addition, strained relations with others even jeopardizes our good relation with God, so “if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Jesus thus fulfills the Old Testament by re-affirming the old Law’s principles of exterior conduct and logically extending the principles to guide interior dispositions.
